Portrait Manipulation

This was a fun one! We photographed a family reunion in a large back yard. This was the group shot of everyone, spanning several families and two countries.

We usually do the large extended family picture first, then break out in individual family groups. However, on this nice afternoon, one couple arrived late – after the group shot had been done.

Fortunately, we did do a nice picture of this couple later in the afternoon, and were able to add them into the group picture.

This shows the original group shot, and the manipulated one that includes the extra couple. These two images don’t line up exactly since the retouched picture still needed to appear balanced – but you can clearly see that the two people added look like they were there when the picture was taken instead of being added sometime later.
